Due to the incredible success of the previous versions of the Vancouver Classical Guitar Festival, which has gathered over 30 participants from all over Metro Vancouver and beyond, and amazing faculty from all over the world such as Daniel Bolshoy, Marc Teicholz and Ben Verdery, we are excited to announce the Third Vancouver Classical Guitar Festival, VCGFest 2022, this July!

       

This year's VCGFest, presented in collaboration with the Vancouver Classic Guitar Society, will be offered both in-person (with limited capacity) and with online alternatives for auditors to accommodate participants’ preferences. During the VCGFest week, participants will be able to learn from  high level and world-leading experts in a variety of topics.

This year’s faculty includes Rene Izquierdo, guitar professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Dr. Daniel Bolshoy, guitar professor at the University of Georgia in Athens, who will be giving concerts and masterclasses; Alec Pearson, UBC guitar professor; Lucida Zhao, our pianist in residence helping with musicianship workshops; David Sossa, teaching the Latin American Guitar Night; Itamar Erez, internationally renowned composer; local guitarists Louise Southwood and Hanh Nguyen; and Luis Angel Medina, who will be sharing his tips on how to learn music effectively.
